William "Cary" Brooks

William “Cary” Brooks, 62, of Green Cove Springs, FL, died July 23, 2021. He was born in Fort Oglethorpe, GA on November 29, 1958. He was retired from Shaw Industries as a Truck Driver and was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as helicopter Crew Chief in Korea. To his family and friends, he was known as “The Gentle Giant.” He loved deep sea fishing and vacationing, and taking rides with his wife on the back roads. He was of the Baptist faith. Cary was preceded in death by his father Gene Brooks and brother Jeff Brooks.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Karen Brooks, mother Amileen (Bolly) Brooks, children Clay Evans, Kristy (Mike) Pack, Chad Evans, Beth Brooks, Eric (Tammy) Brooks, brothers Robbie (Kim) Brooks, Allen Brooks, sisters Sandra Brooks (Bob White), Kathy Brooks Broome (Rick – deceased), six grandchildren, several cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held 9 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. Pall bearers will be Harley Evans, Jordan Smith, Hunter Pack, Barry Burnette, Ryan White, Jeremy Brooks. Interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
